This is a favorite home-style dish I've loved since childhood. The authentic version includes some fermented soybean paste, but I eat lighter meals now, so I omitted the soybean paste, and it's still delicious. It's not suitable for a weight-loss meal because it makes you want to eat too much rice 😂

Super delicious braised pork and pea recipe steps

Add a little oil to the pan (I used a non-stick pan, so I used less oil). Add the minced meat to the cold oil and use the lowest heat so that the minced meat is easy to stir-fry until it is broken up. After it is broken up, turn up the heat and stir-fry until the moisture in the minced meat is evaporated.

Add minced ginger, garlic, and chopped chili peppers (optional) and stir-fry.

Add some light soy sauce

Stir-fry the peas

Stir-fry until some peas start to jump around.

Add half a bowl of water, salt, and chicken bouillon powder, mix well, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes.

Make a thickening sauce: use less than 10 grams of cornstarch and half a bowl of water. This sauce should be very thin, as shown in the picture; don't make it too thick.

Uncover, pour in the cornstarch slurry, and stir-fry over high heat. The cornstarch slurry is very clear, so there's no need to reduce all the meat and vegetables until the sauce thickens. It's intentional to leave some sauce at the end for this effect.

It's ready! Adults and children alike will love it.
