My parents taught me how to make braised pork, cabbage, and glass noodles. It's a delicious and easy-to-make dish.

Home-style braised pork, cabbage, and glass noodles recipe steps

Fresh pork leg cut into chunks

Add light soy sauce, cornstarch, and white pepper to the pork in that order, and mix well. After mixing, you can add a little cooking oil to help prevent the meat from losing moisture and sticking to the pan.

Prepare some vermicelli and soak it in water for later use.

A large, plump white cabbage

When cutting cabbage, separate the cabbage stalks from the cabbage leaves and set aside.

Prepare the seasonings: small red chilies, garlic, ginger slices, and scallions (either large or small, use whatever you have). You can also add some star anise to give the soup a slightly sweet flavor.

Heat the pan and add cooking oil; the oil temperature doesn't need to be too high.

Put all the seasonings into the pot, stir-fry for a while until fragrant, then remove the seasonings and set aside. Leave the oil in the pot to stir-fry the meat.

Don't let the oil get too hot. After putting the meat in the pan, don't rush to stir-fry it. Let it fry a little before stir-frying.

Once the meat is cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside. Wash the pan thoroughly. You can pour out the remaining oil and save it for stir-frying the cabbage later.

Add a little oil to the pan, then add the cabbage stalks and stir-fry. Don't add water yet; the cabbage will release its own water. Control the heat and stir-fry frequently.

Once the cabbage stalks are almost cooked, you can add the cabbage leaves.

Add the cabbage leaves and continue stir-frying. While stir-frying, you can gradually add the ginger slices, garlic, and chili peppers from the previously strained ingredients back into the pot.

After stir-frying the cabbage until softened, add light soy sauce and salt, the amount depending on personal preference.

Add the meat and soaked glass noodles and stir-fry.

Add hot water along the edge of the pot, just enough to cover the ingredients. At this point, taste the broth and add more soy sauce or salt if needed. Keep the heat on medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

It's done! Eat it while it's hot! It's a perfect match with rice 😋
