Homemade Sweet and Sour Pork (All-Purpose Sweet and Sour Sauce) Recipe Steps

Prepare the ingredients and seasonings, and check the ingredient list for measurements.

Cut lean pork into pieces about the thickness of a little finger and about 10 centimeters long.

Marinating the pork ribs: First, add 1/5 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper and mix well. Then add a small egg and mix well. Finally, add 3 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water and mix well.

All-purpose sweet and sour sauce: Mix two tablespoons of white sugar, two tablespoons of white vinegar, two tablespoons of tomato sauce, one tablespoon of light soy sauce, half a tablespoon of cornstarch, and five tablespoons of water until smooth. The sauce is ready.

Heat a small amount of oil in a wok until it reaches about 70% of its maximum temperature. Add the meat strips one by one, and once all the meat is added, use chopsticks to separate any that are stuck together. Cook for three minutes and then remove the meat from the wok (using medium heat).

After removing the pork ribs from the oil, turn up the heat to high and let the oil heat up for about one minute.

Fry the pork strips again for two minutes, until golden brown, then remove. Keep the heat high throughout the process.

In a separate pan, heat a little oil and pour in the sweet and sour sauce. Stir-fry until thickened and bubbly.

Pour in the pork ribs, stir-fry quickly and evenly, then remove from heat.

Finally, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for an even better flavor.
