Steps for making pork liver and tomato soup & pork liver and tomato stew

A piece of fresh pork liver.

Cut into slices about 5-6 mm thick.

After washing, soak it in cold water for 1 hour, changing the water twice during this time.

Drain the pork liver for 10 minutes, then add oyster sauce, light soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well.

Then add a small spoonful of starch and a pinch of baking soda, and mix well again.

Cover with peanut oil and marinate for at least half an hour.

Skewer the tomatoes with a stainless steel fork, roast them over a fire, then peel and cut them into large chunks.

Before stir-frying the pork liver, if you feel there is too much marinade, you can take the pork liver out and set the marinade aside.

Heat a pan with plenty of oil over medium heat, then quickly stir-fry the pork liver.

Once the pork liver changes color, remove it from the pan. Add the diced tomatoes and stir-fry.

After the tomatoes have turned into a pulpy consistency, add 2 teaspoons of salt and 2 teaspoons of sugar.

Add 2-2.5 teaspoons of cornstarch to the marinade used to marinate the pork liver, and mix in a little cold water.

Pour the stir-fried pork liver into the tomatoes and stir-fry again for half a minute. At this point, about half of the tomatoes will have melted and turned into tomato juice. Turn up the heat, pour in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, and stir-fry quickly until well combined.

Now grind more black pepper powder and taste it. If it's not strong enough, add salt and sugar to adjust.

Sprinkle a generous amount of chopped green onions.

Stir it, and use the heat of the soup to scald the chopped scallions. This will make a thick pork liver and tomato soup.

First, scoop out a bowl of pork liver soup.

Add a large bowl of boiling water to the remaining liquid in the pot, along with some salt, sugar, MSG, a pinch of light soy sauce, and half a spoonful of sesame oil. Stir well and bring to a boil. This is your pork liver and tomato soup!

Pour the pork liver soup into a large soup bowl.

The large bowl on the left contains pork liver and tomato soup, while the medium bowl on the right contains a thick pork liver and tomato broth. Both are delicious!
